Anthony over at Family Affair asked that we pub an event mixing Charity x Streetwear. The Family Affair crew is doing big things with streetwear heavyweights Black Scale and Diamond Supply along with Bobby Fresh, whose team put in a ton of effort to make this happen, and up-and-coming Phoenix brand Dearly Departed. On April 16th they are throwing the “Black Diamond Family” collaboration event hosting a fashion show at the store highlighting the four brands latest seasons. All this is for a good cause, supporting Denver Children’s Home, a great place for children who’ve had less than rough a start. Sounds like the home will get a ton of streetwear donated from the show, so at the least, the kids will be laced in cool graphic tees. Most often fashion shows and streetwear feel like an oxymoron, like christian rap, but the Family promises this one has a few unique “treats”. They’ll also be accepting donations for the home for the event.
In addition, looks like they put together a limited collaboration tee with Black Scale, Diamond and B. Fresh with the clever name corresponding (Black Diamond Family). The tee is very Black Scale in design, with the ubiquitous scale, “V” as an “A”, and ominous, almost Arabian theme he runs with. Diamond has its imagery nicely tucked in with the diamonds and pick axes, which works well with a Denver shop/theme as it almost parallels the Nuggets axes. Anthony also subtly placed the mountains in the design which adds a nice touch for the locals. Not sure where Bobby Fresh fits into the tee. Maybe it doesn’t.
